Man charged with selling cocaine at mall parking lot

WAUKESHA CO. — The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department says there’s been an increase in crack cocaine and heroin cases.

That’s evidenced in part by a recent case involving 23-year-old David Fletcher. As first reported by Brookfield Patch, Fletcher is accused of selling crack cocaine to a police informant in a Brookfield Square mall parking lot back in May 2011.

According to the criminal complaint, Fletcher told the informant, “I hooked you up good.”

Investigators say it was a total of $500 worth of crack. Fletcher is now charged with the manufacture and delivery of cocaine.

“We have people here in Waukesha County that I mentioned that are overdosing, that are manufacturing, that are heavily involved in the drug trade, and we certainly are not immune to it here,” said Waukesha Co. Sheriff David Trawicki.

  • Eileen Depka, assistant superintendent for educational services, asked to resign effective June 30 — a year early on her contract — in order to pursue other interests related to her doctorate to be completed in May.
  • Ramona Stavros, Elmbrook's director of special education who also handled duties of a former position of director of pupil services, announced she will retire June 30 after 16 years with Elmbrook.

Marcus Theatres won't show 'One for the Money'

If you’re hoping to catch the Katherine Heigl flick “One for the Money” this weekend, your options are few in the Milwaukee area. Marcus Theatres, a division of Milwaukee-based The Marcus Corp., won’t be showing the film because it couldn’t reach a financial deal with Lionsgate, the film’s distributor, according to the website Deadline Hollywood. The site reports that Marcus was unhappy with Lionsgate’s deal with Groupon this weekend for discounted tickets to the movie. Marcus spokesman Carlo Petrick sent me the following statement: "Unfortunately we were not able to reach an agreement with the distributor of 'One for the Money' to exhibit their film in Marcus Theatres... ...
